David Cordish is a member of the Advisory Board for Cordish Private Equity Partners.
David Cordish is Chairman of The Cordish Companies. David’s career has included service in law, government, and commercial businesses. He served in both the Carter and Reagan Administrations as head of the Urban Development Action Grant Program.
The Cordish Companies is headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland and is a fourth generation family owned and managed business with four major areas of expertise: (1) Real Estate Development, (2) Gaming & Lodging, (3) Entertainment & Sports-Anchored Projects, and (4) Private Equity. The Cordish Companies is widely recognized as of the leaders nationally in the field of entertainment development and the operation of entertainment venues, restaurants, live performance venues, and gaming and resort projects.
David was the recipient of the Johns Hopkins Real Estate Program’s Leadership Award, the David M. Sampson Award by the Greater Baltimore Urban League, the Baltimore WaveMaker Lifetime Achievement Award by the Urban Land Institute, and the Daily Record’s Most Admired CEO Award.
David has a B.A. and a Masters in Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins University. He has an LLB degree from the University of Maryland Law School and was on the Board of Editors of the Law Review.
Jonathan Cordish serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Board for Cordish Private Equity Partners.
Since 2001, Jonathan has managed the finances and investments of the Cordish family and The Cordish Companies of Baltimore, Maryland, USA, and is a Partner at The Cordish Companies, the operating business of the Cordish family. Jonathan is also President of Cordish Private Ventures, LLC, which he has built into a comprehensive private equity investment company that has successfully invested in a variety of private equity funds, as well as made direct equity investments in high-growth companies.
Jonathan had significant experience in private equity finance prior to joining Cordish. From 1999 to 2001, he served as a Vice President and Partner at Riggs Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in Washington, D.C. Jonathan has also served on the advisory board of multiple private equity funds. Prior to Riggs Capital Partners, Jonathan received a Masters in Business Administration from the Wharton School, where he graduated with Distinction with a concentration in Private Equity Finance.
Jonathan received a B.A., summa cum laude and with highest honours, in English and American Literature from Brandeis University in 1990, where he also graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
Jonathan Sinex is a Managing Director at Cordish Private Equity Partners and a member of all Fund Advisory Boards. Since 2012, Jonathan has been responsible for sourcing, evaluating and managing all private equity opportunities for Cordish Equity Partners. Jonathan is a member of many underlying fund advisory boards and participates either as a board member or board observer on many Direct investments’ boards. Jonathan began his career as an investment banker at Bear Stearns in 2004 and prior to joining Cordish Equity Partners in 2012 also worked as a private equity investor at Goldman Sachs and Devonwood Investors.
Jonathan has a B.A. from Middlebury College and a MBA with highest honors from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
Paul Simon joined The Cordish Companies in 2011 as the Chief Financial Officer for the Cordish family office, bringing over 30 years of accounting and financial management experience in closely held family businesses. He has served as the CFO of Cordish’s private equity investments since joining Cordish. Mr. Simon’s primary responsibilities include the day-to-day accounting, treasury management and financial and tax reporting for the family investment portfolio.
Prior to joining Cordish Mr. Simon served as chief financial officer for several large family-owned companies in the Maryland area. His industry experience includes real estate, distribution and manufacturing. Before entering private industry, Mr. Simon spent ten years in public practice serving a diverse range of clients.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Maryland.
Connor Neumann joined The Cordish Companies in 2018 upon graduating with honors from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Connor’s primary responsibilities include financial and tax accounting for the private equity and family office accounting departments of Cordish, financial statement preparation and investment reporting and analysis.
Connor is currently pursuing a Masters in business administration.
